Boobs and Blowhards

Why is it that the only right that seems to be protected in America anymore is the right to make a fool and an ass of yourself? Yesterday we had a nationwide "nurse-in" because employees of a Target store in Houston asked a mother to breast feed her baby in the fitting room instead of sitting in the floor of the clothing department. So women across the country flocked to Target stores, to pop out a boob and show the world that they can do whatever they want. I'm sure Rosa Parks would be proud! Around the same time yesterday, black Houston activist Quannel X, held a press conference demanding that Michael Jordan and Nike lower the price of Air Jordans, so everyone can afford them and people won't have to commit murder to own a pair. To bad the breast feeding mom wasn't black, so we could have bundled all this crap into one news story and not wasted so much of my life listening to it. I guess we just have to accept that every time some one hears the word "no", or doesn't get exactly what they want, we're going to have a protest; and the news media is going to cover it like the whining morons actually have a point. After all, we just spent 3 months watching losers, crack heads, and communists trashing public parks, while the media tried to convince us these worthless turds were just frustrated with the economy. Bullshit! They weren't getting enough free stuff, so they threw a temper tantrum, like a 2 year old; and that's exactly what these women did at Target yesterday. This poor, helpless mom was not asked to leave the store; she was asked to move to a more private area. Oh, the horror! Target is running a damn business! If they would like you to breast feed in the fitting room, instead of sitting on your ass in the floor, I don't think that equates with making you drink from the "colored" water fountain. I have 3 kids and I hope to have grandkids someday; I love babies, and I know they need to eat. But, neither my wife or I have ever sat in the floor of a department store and fed our kids... because we're not idiots. Personally, the sight of breast feeding doesn't bother me. I'm a huge fan of breasts, not so much in this capacity, but I'm not offended by it. However, a lot of people are uncomfortable with it, which is to be expected. This isn't Europe or Brazil, most of the exposed breasts in America are limited to the home and gentleman's clubs. If you're trying on a swimsuit, they'll probably want you to do that in the fitting room as well. The latest Quannel X publicity stunt has even less merit. A bunch of dumb asses are rioting and killing people over tennis shoes, and he thinks it's because the shoes are too expensive. No jackass, it's because they are punks, criminals, and scum bags. I'd like a Corvette, but I can't afford one. If I threaten to kill my neighbor and take his, should Chevy give me a free one? Should we demand that all women provide consensual sex, on demand, in order to reduce the number of rapes committed? If a baby is crying in a movie theater, should the parents just remain seated with her and ruin the movie for everyone else...because that's natural and it's just what baby's do? Get over yourselves people! The world does not revolve around you! The rest of us are just trying pay the bills and buy groceries, and you're irritating the shit out of us. Stop whining and holding your breath every time you don't get your way. Most of all, stay the hell off my TV!

Who's In Charge America?

James Madison is widely recognized as the author of the U.S. Constitution. We can only assume he would have a pretty good idea of what type of government he and the other founders hoped to establish. The situation he describes in the quote above is exactly where we find ourselves today. Government, on the federal, state, and local levels now assumes the authority to do whatever is in their discretion, and it is done with our money. Government has crept into so many areas of our lives, it's hardly noticed by most people, who just assume it's always been this way. County officials in Ohio just took an eight year old boy out of his mother's care because he's too fat and case workers decided it's his mother's fault. Earlier this year, the federal government told Boeing it could not relocate one of it's plants from a union state to a right to work state. A couple of months ago, Houston, Texas Mayor Annise Parker and the Houston City Council, declared several neighborhoods "historical districts", which subsequently places severe restrictions on future uses or modifications to the properties. This was done despite the opposition of at least half of the residents of one neighborhood. Parker the declared that the will of the residents was not a sufficient reason to halt the designation; it was city government's decision. The Declaration of Independence state that "governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed".  How did we go from that to allowing the government to tell us what to eat, and taking away our kids if we refuse to comply? R. Allen Stanford is a former investment broker who was arrested in 2009 by federal regulators for, allegedly running a $ 7 billion Ponzi scheme; he has been held in a Texas prison without bail since. The federal government seized everything Stanford and his immediate family owned; money, homes, cars, property, everything, and he has yet to go to trial. He was denied the right to use his money to hire a lawyer. From what I've heard about the case, I'm pretty sure he's guilty. The problem is, to this point, that's all we have; a bunch of people that are pretty sure he's guilty. Is that now enough to take everything a man owns without proving that he's done a damn thing? No matter how you or I would answer that question, the legal answer is yes; it happens all the time. Government has grown and grown like a fat tick, and we've fed it with our money. But, we're at the tipping point now, the parasite is killing the host. We have the means to prevent it, but if we don't act, that may not be the case in a few years. In a dramatic effort last year, voters returned control of the house to Republicans. This was seen as a backlash against the runaway deficit spending. The house controls the purse strings, but the Republican leadership has refused to use that control. In fact, all of congress and the president have refused to address any spending cuts, despite the concerns of the majority of Americans. Unfortunately, I don't see enough Americans with the courage to do anything about it. They may wake up one day with the government they deserve. Sadly, so will the rest of us.

Forget Penn State, Let's Crack Down On Fat People!

There is a rampant, horrific epidemic of child abuse attacking America and I'm not talking about the serial sexual assault that was allowed to continue unreported by the administrations and police departments at Penn State and Syracuse. While those cases are undoubtedly deplorable, there is something of unprecedented evil happening in Ohio, and possibly all over the country: criminal fatness. That's right! Dirt bag parents, all over this country are feeding their kids too much and they must be stopped! Thankfully, heroic Cuyahoga County officials have done just that and removed an 8 year old boy from his mother and placed him in foster care. According to a story from The Blaze, even though the county does not have an official policy on dealing with obese kids, case workers removed the boy because they considered his mother's inability to control his weight a form of medical neglect. The mother has not been charged, much less convicted of a crime, but if the geniuses at Cuyahoga County consider her to be an unfit mother, that should justify any action they deem necessary. Hell, maybe we should just execute her! Let's not forget that all levels of government are authorized by the constitution to use any means necessary to insure the health and well being of the people. Okay, they actually have no such constitutional authority, but they're smarter than us, so they're going to do it anyway. I think we need to take a serious look at some of the other sadistic abuses that are being committed against kids by their parents. Keep in mind, the child does not actually have to be suffering the effects of the abuse, so long as there is the potential that he might at a later date. After all, the fat kid in Ohio, currently suffers from only sleep apnea. As you can see, this leaves a lot of opportunity to remove kids from the care of their idiot parents, who allow them to indulge in life threatening activities. For example:
  • Driving-According to the CDC, eight people, between the ages of 15-19, die in driving accidents every day. However, roughly 35 million teens continue to drive, with new licenses being issued every day. Damn, this is going to take a lot of foster homes.
  • Swimming-Yeah, it's fun and everything, but we all know it's a death factory. According to the lifeguard site Poseidon, 9 people die in unintentional drownings every day, drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death among children ages 1-14, and a swimming pool is 14 times more likely than a motor vehicle to be involved in the death of a child aged 1-4. Clearly, the number of swimming pools in this country borders on genocide.
  • Cell Phones-First, there is the whole issue of talking or texting while driving, then you have the issue of the whole radiation/cancer thing. No I don't really believe that one, but I'm sure that at least a few people who have used a cell phone, have then also had cancer. So let's take away their kids, just to be safe.
I could have kept going, but I'm sure that these few examples, along with all the fat kids still out there will lead to every adult in America having to take in 5 or 6 foster kids, while losing at least one of their own. Let's be serious for a minute. Who really believes the government, at any level, is smarter than we are? It's been my experience that, whether you're dealing with the I.R.S., H.U.D., the state DMV, or your local tax collector, most govt. employees shouldn't be trusted to go to the bathroom alone. With few exceptions, they are lazy, stupid, and arrogant. They screw up everything they touch and they need to keep their intrusive noses out of our damn business.

Occupy This! Capitalism and Greed Are Not the Problem

As bums and losers have camped out in parks across the country for the last couple of months; dealing drugs, attacking women, and vandalizing public property, I've heard a lot of people, many of whom I usually agree with, come to their defense. The reasoning is; that these are just frustrated people who can't find job and they really have a point because these Wall Street firms and banks are corrupt and they prey on the poor working class people. This so called 1% are just greedy, only interested in profits, and unconcerned with creating jobs. Capitalism is just an unfair system that rewards those at the top and prevents everyone else from moving up. Well, excuse me, but that's a huge load of bullshit. Capitalism, free enterprise, and profits and greed are not the problem. They didn't cause the financial collapse or the high unemployment; and the vast majority of Americans don't believe they did. This weekend proves my point. When you see overflow crowds and waiting lines in the middle of the night on Thanksgiving Day, and full parking lots at various retailers; there's something at work here, at it's not a hate of capitalism or corporate greed. It's an embracing of it, even if those doing the embracing don't realize it. Merriam-Webster defines greed as: "a selfish and excessive desire for more of something than is needed". Now, at first glance, that does sound like a character trait that you wouldn't be proud of. My question is: How do you determine what qualifies as greed, and is it harmful to anyone, other than the greedy person? How much is "more of something than is needed"? Who decides?  Does a someone "need" a forty thousand square foot mansion? Probably not, even if they have a lot of kids, they could live comfortably in a much smaller home. The reality is that even those of us with much more moderate lifestyles could survive with much less. None of us actually "need" houses or apartments, or indoor plumbing and electricity; we could survive living in tents. We don't need restaurants, we could grow or kill our own food. No one needs a cell phone, but most Americans, regardless of income, have one. It seems to me that, by definition, we're all greedy. Guess what; that's a good thing. People were fighting crowds at Best Buy, Toys R Us, and Walmart last night because there were sales and they saw a chance to get more stuff in exchange for their money; they're greedy. The result of that greed is that a cop friend of mine, along with five of his fellow officers, worked an extra job at the local Walmart; jobs were created at a time of year when everyone needs more money. Retailers changed up their schedules this year and opened earlier, or never closed at all. They did it in an effort to gain an advantage over their competitors, to boost sales and make more money; greed. As a result of this "corporate greed", millions of part times jobs were created; some of which will become permanent. The greed will lead to a little extra food on millions of tables, and Christmas presents for a lot of kids that, otherwise, wouldn't have gotten them. A lot of people think it's ridiculous that people are camping out to buy TV's, and that people are having to work on holidays. I agree, so I don't do Black Friday shopping, and I don't work at Walmart. America is awesome! I have a buddy who has a business that specializes in the sales and installation of equipment for converting and fueling vehicles with compressed natural gas instead of diesel and gasoline. National companies are beginning to convert their fleets because CNG is cheaper; GREED. This is going to be huge and hundreds of thousands of jobs will be created, and that's a conservative estimate. As companies see increased profits from the fuel savings, they'll expand and create more jobs, because they're greedy. Some of the savings will be passed on to the consumers of their products, in order to take sales away from competitors. Their greed will lead to increased buying power for their customers. Skeptics will tell you that the corporate fat cats will never pass this savings along to their customers. Really? The first DVD player I ever saw cost about $400, you can buy a better one today for $29. Five years ago, I payed about $100 a month for my home phone; today, I pay $19.95 a year for Magic Jack, which we don't even use because the price of cell plans is so low. Capitalism and greed have given Americans the highest standard of living in the world, and has raised the standards of the rest of the world as well. How many jobs have been created in the Middle East, Russia, Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and Mexico due to methods of extracting and refining oil, that were developed by Americans? How many tech jobs have been created in India and China by greedy American capitalists? How many life saving drugs and medical procedures have been developed by greedy pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment manufacturers? You may have noticed, none of this is the result of government funding, intervention, or regulation. In fact, our current over-reaching, oppressive government would have stalled or prevented many of the life changing innovations of the last 150 years. One of the most hilarious and, at the same time, disgusting developments to come out of this anti-capitalism movement is the re-emergence of self proclaimed communists. Communism, are you freaking kidding me? No other economic system in the history of the world has produced more poverty, human suffering, starvation, and murder than Communism; yet it just keeps coming back like a case of crabs in a whore house. Thank you Karl Marx, you ignorant bastard. Attempting to revive it, is like suggesting that Chevy Chase should get another shot at hosting a talk show. A disaster of that scale should be scrubbed from the pages of history and never be revisited. Like it or not, the key to economic recovery is good old fashioned Capitalist Greed. Get government out of the way and let it work.

Beware of Fraudulent Conservatives

I received a City of Houston 2011 Voters Guide in the mail this week from "Texas Conservative Review". The editor of the publication is former Harris County Republican Chairman Gary Polland. After browsing through Mr. Polland's editorial, candidate grades, and endorsements; I now understand the sorry state of the Republican Party in Harris County and Greater Houston. Despite a bio that portrays him as the ultimate conservative advocate, Polland's commentary on the local elections indicate that he's closer to a Clinton Democrat than a Reagan Republican.
  • In grading the Mayoral Candidates on the "conservatism", Polland gives Deputy Fire Chief Fernando Herrera a "B" and current Mayor Annise Parker (caution you might want to sit down for this) an "A-". Mr. Polland, how long have you been smoking crack? Annise Parker's name should not even be mentioned when grading conservatives. 
  • Parker is praised as a fiscal conservative for "balancing the budget in hard economic times"; and the mayor has cut spending, but where? Of the $ 71 million in departmental spending cuts for the proposed 2012 budget, $ 60 million were to public safety; the Police and Fire Departments, while continuing to fund liberal/progressive social programs.
  • $ 12 million is appropriated for The Recreation and Wellness and Community Center programs which, as the city website boasts, "Enhance the quality of life and wellness of Houstonians" In reality, these programs provide child and senior daycare to a select few citizens, who happen to form the base of the Democratic Party.
  • $ 1 million dollars went to "Historic Preservation" which has imposed drastic restrictions of private property rights against the wishes of property owners, such as the residents of Glenbrook Valley.
  • $ 7.3 million of taxpayer money will be spent on Planning and Development, which is Parkers attempt to force "environmental justice" down the throats of Houstonians. This includes $ 1.9 million for her newly formed "Community Sustainability Commission". To lead the effort, Parker hired Laura Spanjian, an environmental activist from San Francisco, as the "Director of Sustainability", at a reported salary of $ 100,000. Parker and Spanjian are strong proponents of the types of "open space" "restricted land use" policies that lead to the skyrocketing housing prices and cost of living in California.
  • Parker has repeatedly defied the will of the voters on the red light camera issue; turning the off most recently when it appeared that her plummeting approval rating my endanger her re-election. If she wins, you can bet they're coming back on. This despite the fact that all statistics show an increase in accidents when the cameras were on.
  • Just last week Parker and city council voted to reimburse Kroger $ 2.5 million plus interest for infrastructure improvements needed for a new store they want to build in the Heights; which Kroger would have almost certainly paid for themselves.
  • Parker and City Councilman Stephen Costello deliberately mislead voters in supporting last years "Drainage Tax" claiming it would cost residents about $5 a month and would only be spent on drainage and flood control. When the bills started arriving, the actual cost was almost double ($9) and, just last week we learned that $ 857,000 from the "lock boxed" fund would be spent on bike trails.
This is a record that would make Barack Obama truly proud. I don't know anything about Gary Polland, but to assert that Annise Parker is in any way conservative, leads me to believe he is either a complete fraud and liar, an idiot, or that he's been bought and paid for. He also gives his endorsement to Councilman Costello in "At Large Position 1". Costello has been a rubber stamp for Parker on everyone of the issues mentioned here and lead the effort to pass the drainage tax. Fraudulent conservatives like Gary Polland are the reason for the sorry state of the Republican Party. They are the reason we end up with candidates like John McCain and Mitt Romney. I would advise anyone who receives a copy of his propaganda to burn it. I wouldn't use it for toilet paper. As for Fernando Herrera, he opposes Parker on all of the above. He's an A+ conservative and he's got my vote.

Biden Should Take Cain's Advice: Blame Yourself

Yesterday, Vice President Joe Biden told a crowd of union groupies that rapes and murders were up across the country because of the Wall Street Ponzi schemes that were allowed by the Bush administration, and that they would continue to rise if the Republicans didn't pass the president's jobs bill.Holy crap! I thought the Clinton administration was the most deceitful, immoral, corrupt bunch of scumbags we ever allowed in the Whitehouse. These guys make them look like choirboys.Evidently, telling the voters that Republicans wanted bridges to collapse while they were crossing didn't frighten them enough to take to the streets in protest. Now we'll just have to ramp it up and tell them that George Bush and friends are going to rape their wives and daughters; hell, they might even rape grandma before they push her over that cliff in the wheel chair. Last week, Nancy Pelosi said Republicans wanted women to die on the floor, rather than have a life saving abortion. I'm pretty sure that a lot of Americans do feel as if they've been raped by the government. I'm usually against blaming the victims of crime; that's a Democrat thing to do. But, to paraphrase Herman Cain: If you feel you've been raped by the government, don't blame the Republicans; blame yourself! You live in a liberal city like Flint, Michigan and the Democrats you've elected have squandered your tax money and run up huge deficits; blame yourself! I live in Texas, it's not my responsibility to hire your cops, firemen, and teachers. You're a lifetime union worker, who's allowed your representatives to donate billions of your hard earned money to Democrats, and your  state unemployment is now 25%; blame yourself! Cain may have actually written the perfect new motto for the United States; BLAME YOURSELF! If you're the President of the United States and you have a Democratic majority in the senate that wouldn't pass your latest jobs bill, don't blame the Republicans: blame yourself! If you increased spending by a trillion dollars a year, wasted the money paying off your cronies like Solyndra, and now you don't have any left to buy votes, don't blame the Republicans; blame yourself! Everyone in this country needs to accept responsibility for the mess that we've let it become. We can fix it, but, if you don't vote to throw these lying dirt bags out of office next year; then look in the mirror and BLAME YOURSELF when it all falls apart and your living in Mexico North.

Which Candidate Will Create the Most Jobs? Wrong Question

Last night, President Obama presented his new plan to create jobs and it sounded eerily similar to his old plan. Aw what the hell, he only needs half a trillion dollars to pay for it; just send Biden by the house tomorrow and I'll write him a check. But hey, we're only spending half as much as we did last year. Does that mean we're only going to get half as many jobs? Uh, maybe we need to think about this a little more. We have sort of an important election coming up next year and we, as voters, need to give some serious thought as to which candidate can create the most jobs. First, we need to separate jobs into public sector versus private sector. Let's start with public and as Gomer Pyle would say: "  Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!"; Obama wins in a landslide! I have no doubt that, if he gets another four years, he will have created more government jobs than all previous presidents combined. Only one problem; the last thing we need is more govt. jobs. See, private sector jobs produce wealth, govt. jobs absorb it. So, which candidate will create more private jobs? Is it Obama again? Yeah, probably not; I hired a guy to mow my lawn today so, officially, I created more private sector jobs in one day than Obama has in his entire life. So, is it Romney, Perry, Ron Paul, Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain? The answer is: none of the above. No one in government has ever created a private sector job. But, Democrat or Republican, they've destroyed a hell of a lot of them. The only thing they can do to help the situation is: get their dumb asses out of the way of business owners and investors, right now! We'll take the blame for letting you try it your way for this long, but, I think we can all agree that you've screwed it up royally. I'm not going to request that you sit in the back of the car, as the president did of Republicans. No, I'm asking you to get as far away from the damn car as you can. I don't even want to be able to see you in the rear view mirror. You people have done for the economy, what Bill Clinton did for morality. Please step away before something else explodes. We don't need a little tweaking of regulations and the tax code; we need a massive downsizing of, well uh, YOU! Let me provide a few possible starting points:


  • Abolish the Tax Code-Not tax cuts or credits, not eliminating a few deductions, not adding eight more dollars a week to my check. We need to throw the whole damn thing out and start over. No country, anywhere on earth needs a 70,000 page tax code. The only reason for that monstrosity is so politicians can hide things from the people, things like pay backs for campaign contributors and subsidies for industries that may employ you after you leave office. It also comes in useful as a tool with which you can arbitrarily punish your enemies. Get rid of it and replace it with a consumption tax that everyone contributes to and can see what their contribution is.
  • Stop Telling Businesses What to Do-We don't give a rats ass who you think we should hire or how much you think we should pay them. Most of you have never even had a private sector job. What gave you the idea that you know anything about it? Employees at my company could be working extra hours every week, earning an extra $ 150-$ 200. But we can't let them because, by law, we'd have to pay time and a half, and we'd lose money. Do you have any idea what an extra 25%-30% in pay would mean to those families. No, but you make decisions like this on their behalf every day. Mind your own damn business!
  • Abolish the Department of Labor-OSHA, in particular is a worthless disaster that destroys jobs and wealth. We can thank Richard Nixon for this bureaucratic pile of turds. It should be illegal to ever mention his name as a Republican again.
  • Abolish the EPA-Congress can write laws to protect the environment and the DOJ can enforce them.The EPA is a leftist wacko, govt. sponsored version of Greenpeace. It's done far more harm to the economy than subprime mortgages. Get rid of it; and I'll donate a year of free civil service, if I can be the one who gets to go in there and fire everyone.
  • Restore Private Property Rights-Why in the hell do we need govt. telling business owners what size bathrooms they need in buildings they paid for with their hard earned money? Why can't a restaurant owner allow smoking in his own building? Why do strippers have to stay three feet away from the perverts that patronize their establishments?(I'm pretty certain Bill Clinton had nothing to do with that one.) Stop pandering to do-gooder losers that want to mind everyone else's business. It's not creating jobs.
  • Cut Out the Green Crap-There are no green jobs, no green economy, no environmental justice. Govt. officials should be banned from ever using the word green again. It's raising the price of energy, which raises the price of everything else, and it's accomplishing nothing! You're making America look stupid and your pissing me off. When other forms of energy are more efficient than fossil fuels, you won't have to force or pay people to use them. If George W. Bush hadn't outlawed incandescent light bulbs, then maybe L.E.D. bulbs wouldn't cost fifty freaking dollars each!
  • Put A Moratorium on Reality TV-I'm not sure if it will create jobs, but, I'm certain that crap is making Americans incredibly stupid at a rapid pace. What's so entertaining about cramming a bunch of losers into a house together and watching them fight. Stop the madness now!
So, there you have it. I've got a lot more, but I'm sleepy right now! No need to debate it because I'm 100% right. Just pass it now, now, now!

Democrats Take Emergency Measures to Battle Deadly Heat

Warning!!!, EXTREME HEAT ADVISORY, It's going to be really, really hot today. The National Weather Service says temperatures could reach about the same levels they do every year around this time. In response to this extreme "Weather Crisis", President Obama and congressional Democrats have vowed to take bold steps to protect Americans...who vote for Democrats. Temperatures in some parts of the country are expected to exceed 100 degrees, but according to the new, "super-secret heat index", developed by former Vice President Al Gore, it will feel like it's 700-800 degrees. House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said she has heard rumors of some people "just spontaneously bursting into flames". All of the leaders of the Democratic party agree that this heat wave is a lingering result of the Bush Tax Cuts. Speaking from a Washington country club, just prior to teeing off, President Obama said, "As you know, I inherited this weather and reversing it has been an even bigger challenge than we expected. This is just one of the things that happens when you allow people to keep too much of the money they earn." The President then said he was calling on congress to send him legislation that would confiscate the air conditioners of millionaires and billionaires, who make over $ 250 thousand a year; along with anyone else who has a job. "As President, I can't just sit back and allow corporate jet owners and hedge fund managers to keep sipping their Slurpees and relaxing in the cool indoors , while seniors, babies, pregnant mothers, cancer patients, illegal immigrants, and other potential Democratic voters sweat like pigs in this heat. It's just not fair." Even former President Bill Clinton joined the effort to relieve the devastating effects of the soaring temperatures. Speaking to a group of college coeds at Brown University, Clinton urged the young women to be proactive in battling the heat, while working to conserve energy. "Turn your thermostats up to 80 and shed some of those excess clothes. When I was a kid in Arkansas, during the summer, we would wear nothing but thin white tee shirts, then pour pitchers of ice water over each others heads. You have no idea how refreshing that is. In fact, I have couple of tee shirts right here, if I can get some volunteers." Senate majority leader Harry Reid said he plans to introduce a bill that would appropriate $500 billion to provide Gatorade, snow cones, and slip-n-slides to America's most vulnerable...Democrats. "We believe that refreshing snacks and backyard water toys are a basic human right." Reid added that additional "weather stimulus" could be necessary in the winter; as the Democrats are expecting some cold weather, especially up north.

Blatant Hypocrisy or Rampant Stupidity, Which is Worse?

Now that the fine representatives in congress have agreed to solve our debt problem by borrowing some more money, let's look at what we've been told and see if it's anywhere in the neighborhood of reality. The Republicans say that this was the best deal they could make and at least there were no tax increases. Both sides tell us that this will prevent a default, preserve our AAA credit rating, and ensure that seniors and the poor continue to receive their government checks. I think there are two possible conclusions we can draw about the people who are telling us these things; They're either blatant hypocrites and serial liars, or they're incredibly stupid. For people who hear these things and believe them, only the second option is available. Let's start with taxes. This was supposedly where Republicans drew the line, no tax increases on the rich; which, by the way, Democrats would want even if there were no debt problem. So, as of this minute, income tax rates have not increased. Therefore, Republicans see this as a victory. Only, it looks like letting the Bush tax cuts expire is a possible condition of this bill. As bad as that would be for the economy, it's the least of the taxes this will trigger. Our government just agreed to assume $2.4 trillion in additional debt. Debt is money that's supposed to be paid back, with interest. So where does the government get money? Obviously, from us; they really don't have any other options. I guess they could have a big garage sale, or list some stuff on Ebay, but everything they have to sell is ours anyway; and it's not near enough to cover this tab. So, at some point taxes will be increased, on everyone; not just millionaires and billionaires. But taxes can't be raised enough to pay this bill; even if they confiscated all of the money in America. So, the govt. will do what they've done ever since we went off the gold standard, just print more money. The people, or countries, who hold this debt will accept the new money, wet ink and all, because they really have no choice. But, they're going to demand more of it because they know we just printed it, therefore, all American money is less valuable. No matter how much liberals hate the law of supply and demand, they can't get around it. The more there is of something, the less valuable it is. For us taxpayers, this means our money will buy less food, clothing, gas, and electricity than it did before. This has already occurred as a result of the ridiculous spending of Bush and Obama and it's going to get worse, probably much worse. This is the hidden tax that no one in government, except Ron Paul, wants to talk about. If the price of sugar, wheat, or cotton doubles, that's a 100% tax increase on that item, and everyone buys those things. Those hit hardest, here's where the hypocrisy comes in, are those with the least amount of money; seniors and low income families. We'll all feel it, but if you're living on social security, which hasn't seen an increase in three years and is a meager existence anyway; this will be devastating. The same is true for food stamp recipients and those on other forms of govt. assistance. What about the middle class union workers? Well, the retirement savings you have in those lucrative pension funds just got a lot less valuable. You might be better off to just cash out and go to Vegas right now. These groups are the Democrat's base of voters, the people that have blindly supported them with campaign donations and votes, the ones who believe Republicans want to push them off a cliff in a wheel chair; and they've just been sodomized in the shower by the people they thought were protecting them. Those of us who support Republicans didn't get treated much better, but at least a lot of us understand what happened and will try to do something about it. The way I see it, 25-30 members of congress tried to look out for the people that they work for and our Vice President called them terrorists. As for the alleged $1 trillion in cuts over 10 years, they're imaginary, based on budgeting tricks that only make sense to politicians. Spending will continue to increase by hundreds of billions every year. Even if these cuts were real, they wouldn't come close to addressing the problem. Obama gets 2.4 trillion now, but we cut 1 trillion in a decade? Am I the only person here that went to math class? I'm not one of the people who believes both parties are colluding to bring down America. I think a lot of them are just out of touch with reality or stupid, maybe they believe their own rhetoric. The rest of them know what's going on and, either don't care, or are doing it intentionally. The more desperate and dependent on government people become, the more control govt. will have over those lives. The irony is; while claiming to want a more equal sharing of the wealth, what they've accomplished is a more equal sharing of the bills. In the end, I'm not sure what's worse: Scheming and plotting to destroy a great nation, or being too stupid to notice while it's happening right under your nose.

Sustainable Development, LEED Certified, and Agenda 21; Sounds Great!

It's one of the popular catch phrases today: "Sustainable Development" the common definition is "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" Wow, makes you feel all warm inside doesn't it? Let's break this Ivy League eco-babble down into terms that everyone can understand. For about four decades, a few leftist wingnuts have believed that common humans, being the primitive creatures we are, will quickly devour the earth's resources, consume all vegetation and food, and damage the atmosphere beyond livable conditions. In the sixties, it was discovered that we were on a path to rapid non reversible starvation due to over population. Whoops, we're still here. In the seventies, climatologists (which I believe is Latin for "always wrong"), predicted we'd all freeze in a global ice age as a result of all the chemicals we'd released into the environment. When not so much as a snow cone materialized, these same geniuses decided that the ice age had been preempted by SUV's and that the planet would shortly explode into a big ball of flames. As ridiculous as this sounds, it's all true; and a few of these jackasses have been making plans to prevent it for almost 40 years. Even though, if they had been right, the world would have ended 3 or 4 times already. Their master plan is called "Agenda 21", and it is a product of the United Nations, which consists of the U.S., Europe, and a bunch of third world, poverty stricken dictatorships that need us to send them money. Agenda 21 is a series of strategies to help governments implement policies to control the use of land and the distribution of food and natural resources. This is where the term "Sustainable Development" originated. Feel good terms like this are necessary because Americans have this pesky habit of wanting to shoot you if you try to take their property. The plan has been most effectively implemented in local communities and cities using zoning, historical and ecological preservation, and other bleeding heart B.S. A perfect example is The City of Houston's recent "Historic District" designations, which ban the demolition of homes, and greatly restrict repairs and renovations by the owners. Possibly the biggest scam perpetrated along these lines is the "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)" building certification. This steaming load of crap was cooked up about 15 years ago by the U.S. Green Building Council, whose board of directors, coincidently, is made up of CEO's of companies that manufacture green building products. The USGBC isn't a government organization but, through back room politics, the LEED certification program has been adopted by most federal, state, and local govt. agencies. It is a massive scam, as anyone in construction or design without a financial interest will tell you. As detailed in this report, LEED cert. raises the building costs 10% to 30% with no guarantee of energy savings and, occasionally, leading to higher energy use. Since these are public projects, guess who foots the bill? But hey, politicians can pat themselves on the back and give each other awards, while the makers of these "green" products make a killing. It's Time to Fire Annise Parker

Think of The City of Houston as a business; a 4 billion dollar a year business. And all of us that live, work and pay taxes here are investors. Not just those of us that live within the city limits, but, The Woodlands, Sugarland, Friendswood, and Pearland as well. Because those of you that live in the surrounding communities and unincorporated areas still have huge investments in Houston. With few exceptions, you, your employer, or your private company, do business and pay taxes in the city. A vibrant and expanding Houston economy is vital to all our quality of life. The mayor and city council are the CEO and board of directors that we've hired to manage our investment. Well, our CEO is doing a disastrous job and we need to fire her as soon as possible. It's just unfortunate that we can't do it today. Parker has proven that she's about as trustworthy as Bernie Madoff to manage our money. In addition, she's pushing a far left agenda that will drive away business and stall economic growth. We don't have to speculate on what the economic consequences of Parker's progressive, big government policies will be. The State of California provides an excellent example of what this left wing ideology will do to an economy. Consider the following.
  • Police and Fire Departments-Of about $71 million in departmental spending cuts in the proposed 2012 budget, $60 million in cuts to public safety is inexcusable. Making these cuts while continuing to fund give away programs to buy votes and appease campaign contributors, shows a complete disrespect for the people that pay her salary.
  • The Red Light Camera Scam-The voters spoke; Parker ignored them. Even worse, her administration made no credible effort to fight the camera company's lawsuit against the taxpayers. This ridiculous Bill White revenue scam has sucked $60 million out of the local economy over the last three years. In return for our money, we received more traffic accidents at the 70 intersections where the cameras were installed. But it gets even better. Since turning the cameras back on, the chief of police has vowed to expand the program.
  • Youth/Senior Day Care-The Recreation and Wellness and Community Center programs, which are part of the parks department will spend $12 million of the taxpayer's money this year to "Enhance the quality of life and wellness of Houstonians" (their words). Translation: Free day care and meals provided to a select few citizens, in a select few locations.
  • Historic Preservation-Parker, City Council, and a handful of pompous busy bodies conspiring to steal the property rights of private citizens. Using petitions, allegedly signed by homeowners, though the documents were not verified, not certified, and disputed by more than half of the homeowners. However, we did get this program for the bargain price of only $1 million.
  • Planning and Development-Parker's attempt to force "environmental justice" down the throats of Houstonians, at a price tag of $7.3 million. Including the newly formed "Community Sustainability Commission", funded with $1.9 million that could have been spent on public safety. But it did achieve the Mayor's Goal, when she was awarded "Green Mayor of the Year" earlier this month. Who needs cops when you've got sustainability.
I could keep going, but you get the point. The mayor is pushing a political ideology that has nothing to do the best interests of Houstonians. A massive, open ended drainage tax increase ($60 million this year) that was deceptively presented to the voters.An across the board increase in hundreds of city fees, that shouldn't exist to begin with. This progressive approach to city government didn't start with Parker but, like Obama, she's put her foot on the accelerator. We need to stop it; now! Forbes Magazine recently listed Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio among the top ten future boom towns. This is, obviously, because Texas has stayed away from the high tax, over regulation policies of many other states. We can't afford to let city government knock Houston off the list. Higher taxes, excess regulation, and higher crime result in businesses leaving for more friendly environments. The population of Detroit declined 25% in the last decade. The State of New Jersey lost an estimated $70 billion in wealth between 2004 and 2008. Only 13% of the population of San Francisco is under 18 years old; as families have left for more kid friendly locations. Wealth that leaves the "city" also leaves the surrounding areas. We must all work together to stop this trend.


Now that we all agree on Parker, let's talk about Fernando Herrera. "He's not Annise Parker." That alone is reason enough to vote for him. But, I'm voting for him because he exemplifies the values that I want in my elected leaders, that I live my own life by, and that I teach my kids. He has a strong work ethic, believes in self reliance, and has spent a career in public service; not as a politician or bureaucrat, but as someone who runs into burning buildings. He's a small business owner who understands the responsibilities of working to increase sales, meet payroll, and balance a budget. He's the right man for the job, right now. I'm not sure we've ever had a better candidate for Mayor of Houston. But, he needs help. Parker is well funded and the media loves her. Herrera needs money and he needs publicity. We need to use our business contacts and social networks to expose Parker's destructive policies, and to introduce more people to Fernando Herrera.


I know there are urgent issues at the national level. But, by banding together, we can strike a big blow for conservative values in the nation's fourth largest city, and our own back yards.

Is Local Government A Bigger Threat To Freedom Than Federal?

The current resurgence of conservatism and the Tea Party movement which we've seen over the last two years was a reaction to, what many of us saw as the drastic over-reach and intrusion  of the federal government. What began under George W. Bush with the Patriot Act, a huge expansion of Medicare, and the T.A.R.P. bailout of the banks; was then ratcheted up under Barack Obama through the stimulus bill, the health care takeover, and an expansion of federal power through the E.P.A., the D.O.L., and various other government agencies. Basically, the federal government taking greater control of our lives and wasting more of our money; all, of course, for our own good. After all, highly educated intellectuals from universities like Harvard and Columbia could surely make better decisions than the uneducated, working peasants. The problem is; this isn't The Soviet Union. Americans don't like being told what to do or having our money stolen to fund a socialist ideology. So a lot of us started organizing to put a stop to it. I believe, however, that we've become so focused on Washington, that we've missed a more serious and immediate threat right in our backyards. The City of Houston government has, for many years, pursued an agenda that increasingly restricts personal freedom and private property rights and borders on socialism or Marxism. It didn't start with Annise Parker but, like Obama, she's put her foot on the accelerator. Parker and the current city council are squandering our tax dollars on policies of redistribution of wealth, collective control of property, and globalization; while slashing the budgets of the police and fire departments. Earlier this week, I posted a letter that I sent to the mayor and city council, which details the wasteful spending in the current budget. Now, let's take a look at the motivation behind this spending.


The word "globalization" is used a lot these days. According to "Wikipedia", "it refers to the increasing unification of the world's economic order". It's something the U.N. has been working on for over forty years; basically, worldwide redistribution of wealth. The problem with redistribution is you have to first take the wealth from the people who earned it. The only way to do this on a global scale is to have a global government. The U.N. position on individual freedom and private property rights is no mystery; they've put it in writing. The following statement is from a 1976 U.N. Conference on Human Settlements.

"Land… cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice; if unchecked, it may become a major obstacle in the planning and implementation of development schemes. The provision of decent dwellings and healthy conditions for the people can only be achieved if land is used in the interest of society as a whole."

This information came from a June 14, 2011 story on The Blaze. Give it a read to learn more about Agenda 21, which is the U.N. plan for implementing "sustainable development" worldwide. Last month, Obama signed an executive order that provides for the enforcement of Agenda 21 through government regulation and federal funding. About three weeks later, he said he might not have enough money to mail out Social Security checks. Earlier this year, Annise Parker appropriated $ 2 million for her newly created "Community Sustainability Commission". Then, earlier this week, news came out that the use of police helicopters had been reduced by 75%, due to budget cuts. While Agenda 21 has had bipartisan support from every President since George H.W. Bush in 1992, the primary implementation is being accomplished through local city governments. The International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) was established in 1995 and has since worked their way into over 600 American cities, including Houston, which is home of the southern regional headquarters for ICLEI. Click here to visit their website. Earlier this month, the mayor and city council approved "Historic District" designations for three new neighborhoods. This was done despite the fact that many of the residents of one neighborhood (Glenbrook Valley) claimed they were mislead about the "historic" designation, had retracted their signatures from the petition, and there were allegations that the signatures of many homeowners had been forged. What the designation means for these homeowners is that their homes can NEVER be demolished and that all renovations or alterations, including minor things like replacing the front door, must go through a lengthy, bureaucratic application process and comply with the historic district code. Keep in mind, these aren't deed restrictions that were known to the residents when they bought their homes. These are new restrictions on what they can do with private property that they've been paying for, in some cases, for twenty or thirty years. Also note; Glenbrook Valley is a fifty year old neighborhood with ranch style homes. It's a nice area, but it's not St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans. Does this sound like the America that you and I grew up in? Our way of life is under attack from a few arrogant, pompous jackasses, that believe they know whats best for everyone. They exist at every level of government and we better start watching the ones that are right under our noses. Annise Parker is wasting our money to push her elitist view of what society should be and taking away our rights and freedoms in the process. It's time to fire her sorry butt, along with most of city council. I hope you'll follow some of the links in this post and ask yourself a few questions.

  • Why does the City of Houston take $ 47 million a year out of the local economy for building permit and inspection fees? Are buildings in the city constructed any better or safer than those in outlying Harris County, where there are no inspections?
  • Why has the city seized $ 16 million a year from the economy through red light cameras that cause MORE accidents at intersections where they're installed. 
  • Why is $ 60 million a year spent on a parks that are used by less than 20% of the taxpayers?
  • Why does the parks dept. spend $ 10 million a year on meals and recreational programs, that benefit less than 10% of the citizens?
  • Why is the city spending $ 8 million a year to tell taxpayers what they can do with the property they paid for with their hard earned money?
  • Can a city government of less than twenty people do a better job of planning the lives of 4 million people than those people could have done on their own?
Think about it, THEN LET"S FIRE ANNISE PARKER IN NOVEMBER!

Stupid Government Also Thrives at the Local Level

Recently, due to a revenue shortage, The City of Houston made substantial budget cuts to the police and fire departments, while continuing to fund policies of redistribution and social planning. Below is a copy of the letter I sent to the mayor and city council. If you live in the city, I urge you to let them how you feel also. If you have no problem with these moves, well...enjoy your serfdom.

Dear Mayor Parker and Houston City Counsel Members,

In light of the recent news that use of HPD helicopters has been reduced by 75%, I had some questions regarding some of the other decisions that you have made with regard to the allocation of City funds. It appears to me that you have chosen to sacrifice public safety in order to advance a social and political agenda. How do you justify the cuts to the police and fire departments, while continuing to allocate the taxpayer’s money for social engineering projects? For example:

  • Parks and Recreation $ 60 million-The proposed 2012 budget includes line item expenditures such as:  Recreation and Wellness $ 4.5 million, Greenspace Management $ 17 million, and Community Centers $ 7.8 million.
  • Planning and Development $ 7.2 million- This entire department seems to be a waste of money, in particular, $ 1.9 million for “Community Sustainability”. The City of Houston was founded in 1836 and I see no evidence that we’re in danger of disappearing.
  • Office of Business Opportunity $ 2 million-The stated goal of this department is “To provide training and ensure equal access to minority owned businesses.” In other words, taxpayer subsidized discrimination against businesses owned by white men.
  • Health and Human Services $ 39.5 million- Redistribution of wealth; taking money from all taxpayers in order to provide free services to a few. The stated goals include: “Educate, promote, and encourage healthy behaviors”, “Improve access to health information” (Ever hear of the internet?), and “Improve environmental outcomes in the city”

There are very few things that the citizens of Houston need from our city government. Public safety and the enforcement of our laws are the most important of those few. You should be cutting the budgets of these other department, or eliminating them entirely, in order to provide more funding to the police and fire departments. The parks dept. budget is absurd. What good are public parks, swimming pools, and community centers if police don’t have the necessary resources to keep the crack dealers and child molesters out of them? It’s not city government’s job to provide health education, family planning, or free health care. As far as “community planning” and “sustainable development”, it’s nothing but a load of leftist crap. It does nothing, other than provide employment for useless bureaucrats and increase the costs of development and construction; costs that are passed on to the taxpayers. Everything mentioned here amounts to a socialist redistribution of wealth. You’re taking money from me and my neighbors to provide free services to people that you believe are disadvantaged.

Like all other socialist do-gooders, you ignore the consequences of your Utopian policies. The citizens most likely to suffer from an increase in crime are those in low income/high crime neighborhoods; the same people you say you’re trying to help. There is a very logical reason why we don’t have enough revenue to fund government; it’s because we have way too much government. If we see an increase in crime as a result of these budget decisions, it will rest squarely on your shoulders. You had other choices.

Thank Heaven for Bill Clinton

Just when things seemed hopeless concerning the debt crisis, a voice of reason comes riding in to calm the waters. That's right, it's good ole Willie Clinton to the rescue. During an apparent break between power doses of his Viagra/Cialis cocktails, the former president offered his solution to breaking the impasse on raising the debt ceiling. Showing his patented respect for the rule of law and the constitution, Clinton's solution is: "Screw congress, the president can do whatever he wants to." Actually, Honest Bill believes the president is obligated by the constitution to bypass congress. He says the 14th amendment mandates the country to pays our debts. Of course it does, but it doesn't mandate us to borrow the money to pay them. I guess it's all in how you interpret the words. Keep in mind, this is the same guy who received a hummer (not the automobile kind) under his desk from an intern, decorated her dress with his DNA, then swore under oath that it wasn't sex. As George Costanza once said, "It's not a lie, if you believe it." Clinton actually said; "I would force the courts to stop me." It certainly wouldn't be the first time they were forced to do that, would it Bill? Mr. President, we appreciate you efforts, but shouldn't you just get back to stimulating the economy....one lap dance at a time?

The Debt Ceiling for Idiots

Okay, so you and your spouse have a combined income of $300,000 a year. You have a mortgage, 4 cars financed, a boat, a time share in Colorado, a student loan you're paying on, and several credit cards. Your combined total credit limit is about $4 million...and you're maxed out. Now, for some absurd reason, no one wants to extend you any more credit (Sheila Jackson Lee thinks it's because you're black). So you can't pay all of your bills, you're broke, right? No you ignorant jackass, you make damn good money...more than 99% of the people in the world! Your problem is, you're stupid!...Real _ _ _ _ing stupid! We're not talking "failed you're algebra exam stupid" or "can't work the DVD player stupid"'. We're talking "Sheila Jackson Lee stupid"..."Joy Behar stupid". You thought that just because you were successful and made good money, you could have everything you'd ever wanted. You believed you didn't have to choose or prioritize like other people, you'd just get one or two, or fifty of everything. Then one day, the dumb asses that had been funding your life of leisure woke up and thought "Holy Crap! He'll never be able to pay us back!" So they cut you off. Now, since you can't borrow anymore, you'll have to live under a bridge and eat out of dumpsters, right? No nimrod, you still have two paychecks coming in every week (though I'm not sure how an idiot like you keeps a job). What you have to do is decide what to pay with the money you have. I'd start with the mortgage and groceries, but that's just me. I'd pay for the bare necessities first, then see how much I have left for extras. A couple of the cars might have to go, maybe the time share too. You might even have to move to a smaller home. But trust me, you're not broke. When I was very young, my brother and I had an apartment. A couple of times our money was low, so we pooled it and bought generic weiners, buns, and chili; then ate hot dogs every day for a week; that's broke! You just have a bad case of spoiled (and you eat a big bowl of stupid every morning). That's what this debt ceiling crap is all about. No matter what the politicians tell you; AMERICA IS NOT BROKE! We are the richest nation in the history of the world and we have more than enough money to pay our bills. We just have to cut out some of the extras; like paying able bodied men and women to sit on their asses instead of working; or sending hundreds of billions to European countries that do a worse job of managing their money than we do. This is not rocket science and you morons need to stop buying the crap these politicians are selling. You can't spend more than you make, then keep asking your boss for a raise every other day. By the way, Obama is just jerking you off when he talks about raising taxes to balance the budget. He knows damn well that a tax hike wouldn't put a dent in the debt. If you raised the tax rate on everyone in America to 100%; it would fund the government for about 6 months. Obama's no genius, but he's not "Jackson Lee stupid" (though he does think anyone who makes over $250,000 is a billionaire). He's just playing a game. It's up to you "Sheilas" to stop playing along.

Government Shutdown? Stop Teasing Us

Just a few thoughts on the looming federal government shutdown:
  • If only it were true.I wish the media would stop talking about it because I'm getting all excited and setting myself up for a big letdown when it doesn't happen. Listening to the media hype, you would think a giant asteroid was on it's way to destroy the planet. Give me a break. Other than the military and some of the law enforcement branches, we're talking about the most useless, incompetent, corrupt, bloated, over paid, and blatantly stupid organization in the history of the universe. The vast majority of it should shutdown immediately and never, ever come back. For Example:
  • The Department of Education-Nothing but a federal advocacy group for teachers unions and every other politically correct group of leftist blowhards in the country. Since it was established under the helpful hand of that idiot Jimmy Carter, the public education system has been in a catastrophic free fall; while hundreds of billions of dollars have been flushed down the toilet.Schools should be managed locally, by the people who use them. The idea that the federal government can contribute anything of value is absurd, as we can see from the results.
  • The Department of Energy-They loan money to other nations to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, but refuse permits to American companies. Do we really need to say anything else. By the way, did you catch the president's comment about gas prices yesterday? It was, basically, "If you drive an SUV or some other gas guzzler; then stop bitching about gas prices. You should have bought one of those fifty thousand dollar golf carts like I told you to." This, from a guy who's always in a limo and leads an organization whose preferred mode of transportation is the Chevy Suburban. Of course, they don't have to worry about gas prices since we buy their gas.
  • The Department of Labor-I got OSHA's weekly newsletter via email a few days ago and one of the headlines was "OSHA Hosts Regional Summits to Promote Latino Worker Safety and Health". So I guess injuries and fatalities to white and black workers are just the cost of doing business these days. They also want to make sure immigrant workers are paid fairly. Think I'm making it up, check out this link:http://webapps.dol.gov/calendar/detail.asp?event_id=2767 Shouldn't they at least change their name to "The Department of Latino and Immigrant Labor" Probably just a coincidence that Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis, is a Latino.
  • The EPA-Their mission is to eliminate the jobs that the departments of energy and labor miss. It's impossible to estimate how many businesses and jobs have been forced out of America by this useless bureaucracy. The crowning achievement to four decades of stupidity came in 2009 when they declared Co2 a health hazard.
  • The I.R.S.-The single biggest reason for the current state of affairs in America. For those who manage to survive all of the other government road blocks to success; the I.R.S. is there to punish them for being greedy. Just this week, we learned about "wealth squads". These groups of agents exist for the purpose of auditing the "rich", who currently pay about 70% of all income taxes. Somehow, I doubt this will be one of the agencies affected by the shutdown.
If we ever have a real government shutdown, that loud noise you hear will be the big ass party going on at my house.
